Empire Court – Ikoyi, Lagos: A Cinematic Production Journal

Produced in 2020, Empire Court was a swift yet sophisticated production that brought architectural storytelling to life in just a single day. Located in the heart of Ikoyi, Lagos, and managed by Maison Hills, this film was written, directed, and edited solely by me—executed start to finish by a focused, two-man team.

With tight coordination and a clear creative vision, we approached Empire Court not just as a structure, but as a narrative—an experience waiting to be told through light, motion, and space.

The film opens with dynamic drone cinematography, revealing Empire Court’s commanding presence within the serene, upscale grid of Ikoyi. These aerial shots were designed to showcase the building’s clean lines, lush surroundings, and prime location—all captured with cinematic precision to establish a strong sense of place and prestige.

We then moved into fluid walkthroughs, utilizing full-frame cinema cameras (BMPCC 6k) on stabilized gimbals. Every frame was carefully composed to highlight Empire Court’s spatial flow, refined finishes, and architectural harmony. The interior visuals glide effortlessly, allowing viewers to feel the textures, transitions, and thoughtful design language of the space.

Though produced in a single day, the storytelling was multilayered—reflecting the journey from renovation to fully finished, functional living spaces complete with premium amenities. This transformation was conveyed through visual pacing, deliberate angles, and post-production finesse that emphasized evolution and elegance.

Despite the minimal crew, we deployed industry-standard equipment—cinema-grade optics, aerial systems, and professional audio—to ensure the final product matched the Maison Hills brand in both quality and tone. Color grading, subtle sound design, and a custom score tied it all together—elevating the film beyond a tour, into an aspirational lifestyle experience.
