“Number 4” – Ikoyi, Lagos: A Cinematic Production Journal

In 2020, I had the privilege of producing “Number 4”—a refined architectural film set in the prestigious heart of Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos. Commissioned by Maison Hills and brought to life by a dedicated two-man crew, this production was a masterclass in precision, speed, and storytelling. Shot, directed, and edited within 2 days, every moment was executed with intention and excellence.

The storytelling began well before the camera rolled—with a tight storyboard built to maximize efficiency and cinematic impact.

I opened with sweeping drone shots to establish the scale, setting, and urban luxury of Bourdillon. The aerial sequences were designed to frame “Number 4” within the architectural rhythm of Ikoyi—juxtaposing its modern symmetry against the lush cityscape. These shots set the tone: grandeur, precision, and tranquility.

As we transitioned into walkthroughs, we employed stabilized gimbal systems paired with full-frame cinema cameras, capturing seamless motion through the property’s carefully curated spaces. Every angle was deliberate—emphasizing natural light, spatial flow, and the tactile richness of materials. The camera didn’t just show the home—it glided through it, inviting the viewer to experience its rhythm.

Despite the tight timeline, post-production was treated with the same world-class rigor. Color grading was used to accentuate tones and textures, while subtle sound design and a custom score gave the piece its cinematic depth. The final film spoke not just of space, but of lifestyle—of Maison Hills' standard and the architectural sophistication of “Number 4.”

Using industry-standard gear—from professional drones and cinema-grade gimbals to prime glass and dynamic lighting—we delivered a luxury real estate film that stood shoulder to shoulder with global standards.
